31st January
It's the last day of January so I'm quite keen to update my blog again even though I have lots of works to be done.
Well, I had tried to take some time to quickly update the post about the blood donation campaign during the last Thursday.
First of all, this is the banner of the campaign, taken from the event FB page.
Hmm... The main point is the slogan, "Every blood donor is a hero".
Well, it means that you don't have to crush your dream to be a superhero like in the movies, who saved lives from time to time. Here is it, once you donate your blood in a healthy condition, you could be a hero for the one who need your blood.
In fact, 1 pint of blood could save three people's lives!
Alright, since the photos of this campaign still haven't upload on Sixth-Form Society FB page, so I'll maybe update next time.
So, the first time to donate blood is quite a new experience for me, as I'm not sure is it painful or what, I just want to try this experience lol.
Through a series of checking, I'm safe to donate my A-type blood (Hooray!). After a queue, and it's time for me to donate my blood.
At first, my limb is "poked" to make some blood out, and thx ya the nurse can straight "poked" on my vein for only one time lol.
Then, the next thing you could feel is that your limb numb suddenly, and you have to keep using your hand's pressure to force your blood out into the tube connect to the bag.
Then I kept using my force, seeing my reddish blood flow out like that, and that time I didn't feel dizzy at all.
You know, tests showed that I have a normal rate of hemoglobin, so that's why my blood can be considered thick and very dark red in colour.
Since this is the first time to donate blood, doctor suggested me to donate 350ml of blood, and the next time I can try to donate more, up to 450ml.
I thought donating blood is a long process, but donating 350ml of blood takes only about 10 minutes, which is quite fast already.
And then, the needle is pulled out and I was required to folded my limb up with cotton clotting my blood.
I rested for about 10-15 minutes more and the blood donation is completed.
The next thing is my favourite, which is enjoying the snacks given lol.
Haha of cuz' I won't be so greedy eat much la, just a cup of milo and a bread would be enough.
Rest for a while again to make sure I could still can walk lol.
But in the end, I didn't feel anything at all, which can be considered a good achievement for me.
Although my limb still got a little pain, but that's the 黑青 only, so no problem la.
Wow 感谢老天爷保佑, I still alive haha XD
But once you donated blood, you cannot donate blood again for the next 6 months.
So if this campaign held again, I may attend again haha, I think it's quite fun and interesting lah.
Actually there's another event yesterday, called "Youth Sports", but the event is not ended yet, so I'm not update about it temporarily.
Anyway, it's the last day of January, February is coming and more challenges are coming too!
Good luck guys!
