Cameron

#386
10th March

*I use CH as Cameron Highlands.

Let's get started. But first, here are some travelling tips:
1) If you are from Penang/Kedah/Perlis, use the highway from Simpang Pulai to proceed to CH. If you are from Selangor/KL/Melaka/Negeri Sembilan/Johor, use the highway from Tapah to proceed to CH.
2) Please take jackets and umbrellas, because the weather here is cold, and sometimes it will rain.
3) Better take a stop at any farm/point, cuz' there's no stop for you to go for toilet from Simpang Pulai to CH/Tapah to CH.
4) Early visit is a must, do that so you can avoid flows of tourist/traffic jam.
5) If necessary, bring medicines better.
6) Check/Service your cars cuz' the road is very winding and not really that smooth.

06/03/2015 (Friday)

Wahaha took leave to go for this trip lol, but nvm lah my boss is okay to handle my students, so I think I'm really 放心 lah.
So, woke up around 5.15 am, wash up and all that things, sit my 三舅's car, 6.30 am 就出发了!!!
Oh I forgot to say got which ppl yet, include me, my mom, grandma, 三舅, 大姨, 大姨丈, Lee Ching 表哥 and Lee Xian 表哥, total of 8 ppl.

First, we reach Ipoh to have our dimsum breakfast.
Erhem for sure it is really a bit late but nvm I had a cup of milo at home dy so still can tahan lah.

 Street view of Ipoh.

Yeah 蛮丰盛的 haha :)

After breakfast is the time to CH!
Just what I said, we took the highway from Simpang Pulai to CH, very winding, and there's no stop between it.
After about 1 hour++, we reached Green View Garden to have a stop.
Just an ordinary farm/garden, whereby there're strawberries, flowers, lavender and vegetables.

But most of the times we were just took some photos, went for toilet like that only.
Oh btw when I washed my hand here, it is really cold >.<
After some rests, our next stop is the Cameron Lavender Garden, quite famous pun.
To enter this garden you need to pay RM5 for adult, RM3 for children.

 Here is it.

 More flowers...

More lavenders... (I like this pic so much :D)

Those little houses are actually belonged to the honey bees, well I don't dare to open it XP

These flowers could be self-plucked, but of cuz' need to pay money lah xD

拍照留念算了呗...

Em... it's nearly lunch time dy, so gonna drive through more winding roads, pass through some towns, and then we reach Brinchang.
Somehow I thought Brinchang is the main town in CH, becuz' there're much more things can be found at here.

So here's Brinchang.

What we ate for lunch not important dy, you go there and find some restaurants/cafes and enjoy bah.
After lunch, we straight to Tanah Rata, where our apartments locate.
Em ya it is about 4-5 km away from Brinchang, so actually not that far lah.
And this is where we stay for 2 nights:

 Outside view,

Living room (TV wif Astro =DD)

 Kitchen.

Here is the view from the balcony.

 Master bedroom.

 Bedroom 2.

Bedroom 3 (Smallest in area).

Yup of cuz' I already said that the water here is really cold like hell, for sure there's hot water supply, 谢天谢地啊!
Moreover the floor and wall here are also cold, so there's no fans here, 自然凉 hiakhiak XD

After rest and clean up, we proceed to Cameron Valley Tea House, using the road from Tanah Rata to Ringlet, but the location is at the halfway.

 好宽阔的茶园啊! :)

So these are what we had for out tea time (But not high tea lah haha XD)

Happy tea time!!! :>

This tea time is okay lah, so it was nearly dinner time dy, we proceeded to Brinchang again to have our steamboat dinner!!! :D
For sure it was night time dy the weather is getting colder, so I gonna wear 2 shirts (I forgot to bring jacket T.T)

We ordered 鸳鸯火锅, most of the dishes are vegetables, but of cuz' got fishes, chicken meats, fishballs, prawns and sotong.

Thought that eating steamboat could help sweating, manatau no sweating at all, and weird thing is in front of body is hot, at the back is cold LOL.
Ah so nice to have a dinner that make your body warm.
Oh I found that the dogs here are quite different from what I saw at other places, cuz' most of them at CH are covered with thick fur, and quite large in size pun.

This is one of the dogs, there're quite lots of them.

Next is to the pasar malam for shopping spree!
Okay so the pasar malam is not everyday got open, mostly Friday and Saturday.
Only when school holidays, pasar malam will be opened everyday.
Here you can buy everything, like strawberries, vegetables, foods, honey, souvenirs, shirts and flowers like that.
Since the pasar malam is near to our dinner spot, so we just walked about 5 minutes to reach there.

Here's a stall I want to recommend.
These stall sells everything about honey, not sure whether 现榨 or not, but there's a special part is the beehive, cut and inserted into jars of honey.
Well, the beehive could be eaten, all the 精华 are at that part you know?
Haha and of cuz', honey can be stored for many years!

The boss is cutting the beehives.

One of the 战利品: Lots of strawberries!!! :D

After shopping spree at the pasar malam, back to apartment to "算账", just to make sure everyone got the correct things.
Around 9.30pm, me, 三舅, Lee Xian and Lee Ching went to Starbucks (I'm not kidding there's a Starbucks at Tanah Rata!) for a mug of hot chocolate.
Lol can't believe I'm so addicted to Starbucks XD

Chill off at Starbucks =D

Back to apartment around 11.30 pm, the end of day one at CH.

07/03/2015 (Saturday)

Woke up around 7.20 am, my whole body really cold like hell, stepping those even more cold floor really beh tahan.
Fortunately after a shower, drink a cup of coffee, everything's okay a bit lah.
After that we had a breakfast at Brinchang, quite a simple breakfast, no photo taken, I think it's unnecessary lah.

This day we visit 三宝万佛堂, located at Brinchang.
Besides visiting, we also go 拜神求签, cuz' 三舅 said 在这里求签很灵.
What did I 求签 no need to say liao lah, I keep it myself for my future. :)

The next stop is the Boh Tea Plantation! One of the most famous brands in the world.
The path to enter the plantation is quite narrow and sandy, but the view there is quite nice.

Tada! Here we come!

There's a factory where you can enter and witness the whole process of making the teabags, including sorting, rolling, fermentation, drying and packing.
There're description written on the boards for each part, but how does it made you go there to learn lah haha xP

A wide view of flourish green tea plants.

Of cuz' there's also a cafe and shop for you to buy tea products, and have some delicious cakes and having tea to enjoy.
Well for sure we had our morning tea that day xP

Strawberry tarts, apple pie, chocolate cake, carrot cake and nasi lemak.

Boh milk tea <3

Happy morning tea time! (+A great view of the tea plantations :D)

After a nice morning tea time, we drive down to the tea plantation to take some pictures.
Wahaha that was too nice OMG, like you can't see any high buildings around you, very close to nature.

来个 professional 的 ”不看镜头照“ XD

Yeah so nice but so cold too XD
Anyway let's continue our jorney to Cactus Point.
That's also a garden which sells everything about cactus, flowers and souvenirs.

At here, finally I bought a shirt again for me, with words "I love Cameron Highlands".
LOL I didn't plan to buy cactus or any plants cuz' scare that they will wilt in no time, since the weathers are so different.

Next stop, is the Time Tunnel.
At here, you can find many 古董, making you have a feeling like you are staying at a house in olden times.
Wow quite unbelievable most of the things here I did not see before, and some of them I saw before and used before.
So I recommend this place becuz' you can know how was the life in olden times, and here you can find much more surprises.

以前的余仁生 medicine box, can't believe it still can be found at here.

旧时代的厨房一角

 长辈们的童年回忆,全都在这里

 李光耀和李显龙

Olden times' people already got such advice dy, 惭愧啊。。。(jkjk)

Coffee, tea or me? XD

经典的摆设品

Part of the salon, cutting station.

Part of the salon, drying station.

来来来,大家一起大麻将!!!

旧时代的经典厨房 (好有 feel 啊~~)

It's lunch time, back to Brinchang to have our lunch.
After lunch, it starts raining.
Aiya 天不作美, but fortunately we visited the tea plantation in the morning, abo sure miss the chance to visit dy.
The worst thing is my 大姨丈's car's tyre got problem, now only left 三舅's car nia, so gonna fetch two times >.<

Raining makes the weather even colder, so we proceed to Big Strawberry Farm to wait for the rain stops, 顺便参观参观 the place.

 Raining...

And we also have our tea time again haha XD
Scones, bread and strawberries sundae :)

Fortunately the rain wasn't poured for a long time, so there's no other places to visit, we just back to apartment.
Before that, we planned to have another self-make steamboat dinner, so we go to mini mart to buy all the frozen fishballs, and also went to the pasar malam (3pm open dy) to buy vegetables.
Huh so tired nia go here go there, but at least we can have another warm steamboat dinner jiu okay le.

After some preparation, we all 开动咯!!!

Having steamboat dinner together.

Adui manatau at night there's a small rain, so we went to the pasar malam at Tanah Rata.
Probably it's raining so there're not much stalls, nothing to buy at all.
We back to apartment after a short walk, and we stay up the whole night playing cards at the apartment only.
Like that, we ended our second day at CH.

08/03/2015 (Sunday)

The last day at CH.
Again another cold morning to tahan for, can't imagine how will the ppl live here XP
Well, the same thing, pack everything into the car, had a breakfast at Brinchang, then we went to the market around Kea Farm.

Here is the last stop at CH, bought somethings else, and then 出发回家咯!!!
Wow got a feeling that want to stay here, but still cannot adapt to the cold weather here, everyday wear jacket haha.
Anyway, we use the same highway back to Simpang Pulai, and had our lunch at Ipoh, then bought some cookies back to Penang.
Back home around 4.45pm dy, and that's all of the journey at CH.

Last picture at CH, see you soon!

So, I think that this trip can be considered as my present for my good results for SPM bah.
I'm not sure why, having an "escape" at here could making you think about your future, especially when you are looking at a land of green tea plantations, high hills and flowers.
What should I say anymore? My future is still really unknown, I'm also can't even imagine how I would be by that time.
Everything keeps changing, and thanks for this trip...
... I think, I made a decision :)

Bye!
