Persona 5

#511
14th May

Hey guys it's me, after two weeks, it's time to update my blog.
Well, it's almost mid-May and currently most schools are having or had examinations, and after that, it's the mid-year holidays.
Talking about that, it's quite a huge responsibility as a teacher to make sure your students really understand all lessons and fully prepared for the exams.
Well, somehow lots of things just going to the other way round... I guess you know what I mean, right?
No wonder teachers are the stereotype who are scolding us for not paying attention during classes, I feel it the same way too.

By the way, today I would like to share a game to you, which I had recently fell addicted to it after watching videos of playing via Youtube.
I don't usually talk about games on this blog, but my intention told me, I have to share with you guys.
Oh, here's a picture to let you know what's the game.

Well, it's Persona 5!
Fyi this is a JRPG (Japanese Role-playing Game), which I'm not used to play in my earlier childhood, but talking about this genre, you may relate to Final Fantasy series. Yupe, that's the key point.
There're lots of reviews on website, but I recently just read one, so might click here to check it out.

This game is actually not new at all in Japan, but it released in USA one month ago as to translate the language to English.
You might think this is a series game, well it is however it's considered as a standalone, same goes as Final Fantasy as well. You don't need to play the first four series to get to know what had happened.
The story is just set to start, expand, and end itself.
A lot of hit games released recently, such as NieR:Automata, Resident Evil 7, Outlast 2 etc.
I watched all of the videos of playing for these games, but none of them could actually same as this Persona 5.
As you know, most games depict abstract stories, but Persona 5 depicts abstract stories about real social issues.

Instead of emphasizing battles, but the game was made to be almost a simulation, where you play as a high schooler who was falsely accused under a crime. By who? Sorry to figure that out since I haven't finish watching the videos, cuz' it might take over hundreds of hours to finish watching them.
Yay if that's so it means this game is quite long.
In the game, you can walk through Tokyo streets and iconic destinations such Shibuya, Shinjuku etc.
It makes the game even life-like when you have to actually traveling by underground trains, walk into stores to buy food, having lessons and answering questions in classes...
Oh, you also have to remain your social links with different confidants by hanging out with them.
I guess that's quite a simulation by not directly go to any places without these details around us.
Even I have to praise the menu screens as well, they are damn well animated too!

But on top of all the game systems, the story is what attracted me to keep watching.
Unlike most of the games, some games leave the story an open-ended ending, which makes you have to figure out what had happened to the characters.
However, like the games I mentioned above, including Persona 5, you really know what is going on for every moment.
Persona 5 set the stage in Tokyo, and the stories are basically about real social issues, including insults, exploitation, scams, crimes etc.
All in all, they are deeply related to one topic: "Cognition"
I'm quite new to this term, but after watching through videos and some research, cognition refers to the concept of human perceiving the world and viewing what they see as reality. When enough humans collectively perceive something that concept becomes "real", influencing both the world and themselves.
Quite deep huh? Here's a simple example: You are stuck in a traffic jam, and your first thought is either malfunctioned traffic lights or car accident. That's the cognition about traffic jams for most humans.
Another example: A person who is excellent and versatile will achieve success in future.
But that's my opinion, since there're even more to look for this topic.
Either way, there're lots of explanations about this, but the story just keep interesting.

Well then, this post has no spoiler if you intend to play the game.
Shall you discover the amazement of this game by yourself? Of course, and if you are not playing the game you can just watch the videos on Youtube too.
That's all for today. Bye!
