Another Late Night Thoughts

27th March

Every time when coming up for a post to update, I had always been thinking a lot.
Thinking this, thinking that, hope could pass my message here as a expressing point.
Being through an unknown illegible and complex thinking messed up my mind, that what should I say?
Well, in fact, I wrote down everything once it comes to my mind.

After applying for the local universities through the UPU system, I back to the same question after finishing the last term of STPM: Applying overseas universities?
It's been a doubtful quest on self-capability to hold on a large step, there are many aspects to be analysed before going on.
As so, I read through a book on how to make confident decisions, and it did really effective, yet there are way too much aspects to consider about: The preparations, dealing random lifelong issues during the studies, constructions of higher level thinking skills, risk analysis, consequences interpretations, money sources, stakeholders and so on.
Numerous or even uncountable ways to figure out on how to choose the right path.

Instead, you might ask: Your results are pretty well done, and for sure you will get the scholarships, no problem to study overseas.
Yes, indeed, my results could make me for the 100% tuition fee waiver, and if my decision took right, I might actually just go for it.
But hold on, rushing isn't my style. Attracted by several rankings, offers, achievements and status, it made me more confusing. Some of them had clear reports on the teaching qualities, internship opportunities and international partnerships for students who wished to study abroad.
All of these, had thrown me into a vortex of selections, but only one is the destination.

Speaking about these, I planned to apply Singapore NTU and Hong Kong's HKUST and City-U, and of course local universities as well.
The thing is, my parents don't agree to my plan to study overseas, and they got a point:
With my results and if my interview is passed, I can get scholarships to study there for the first year, but your results must be consistently excellent (or above the acquired CGPA rate) so that the school could continue offering the scholarships as financial assistance for the second, third and fourth year. Otherwise, you have to pay by myself. That means, they don't want me to study in pressure just to maintain that scholarships, that eventually will make my university life a very tragic moment.

You might say again: Well you could do it though, you had fought the hardships during Form 6, you sure can make it as confident as before.
Honestly, that is what I'm worrying about. In fact, you don't know what are the contingencies that might fall on you suddenly, and there you goes, the nightmare.
I had been questioning myself for a long time that luck had been by my side, all the time, especially peak moment of every important examinations.
Strange ya? But for me, it's quite a miracle. There should be ups and downs, but this happens constantly every peak moment?
I knew I did strive for the best, and I'm always ready for the worst, but the preparation seemed to be unnecessary.
And so, I followed several advice, and I made a decision that might be shocking, yet it had been decided, so there's no way to be doubtful anymore.
My decision read like this:"Go to local universities, and seizing for opportunities to study overseas".

Sounds like what I had done after finishing SPM.
This decision is super strong and had actually "violated" the initial plan, but I mentioned that keywords "seizing the opportunities", means I did not give up the hope to study overseas, at least two months I would be thankful enough.
Luckily as I scrolled through several websites, following teachers' advice, things came to be quite tricky as well when selecting the courses.
That experience, I would talk next time.
Great, what a long post, goodbye ;)

Recap

#506
14th March
(Source: Smiley Face Clock Photography, www.wallpapersonthe.net)

What's up guys? After one-month halt finally I have enough materials to write a blog, or not...

Well, I'm kind of like, if there're really interesting things happen, I will make them all in just one post, as well as other relative updates.
So basically here are some recaps since 14th February.
I think I might forgotten lots of things but for sure, there's one thing, which is unforgettable forever.

28th February.
Well I did not mention anything about this.
THE DAY TO TAKE STPM RESULTS!!!!!!
So, in the end, the story takes to a turn to where I want to, and that's mean...
...I had finally achieved what I want to achieve: CGPA 3.75 and above.
And what I get: CGPA 4.00
Which means: I'm one of the 150++ STPM 4A top students in Malaysia.
Meanwhile: One of the seven STPM 4A top students in CLHS.
And also: One of the four STPM 4A Physics class top students in CLHS.

I made the decision which in turn, making a huge compliments from the school, friends and family, and of course, a high road for my future.
But the aftermath is the main point: where to go to further my study? And what kind of decision should be made?
All of these, I had actually made my choice, but indeed I'm still wondering what is my future plan after university?
That's the problem that I wished to talk about in the next post.

Digression
CLHS Sixth Form Prom Night 2016 was 3 months ago and finally the photos are uploaded and you can click here to look at the album.

Overture

#505
13th February

Hack yea! I had never imagined that I would actually "abandon" my blog for such a long time without any update.
Yup there are no other reasons but constantly, I'm working as a tuition teacher until the time I'm ready for university.
There is a long halt since the last update on my blog, but instead I wouldn't explain much on what was happening on me, but I may consider that as another overture of a new chapter of my life.

Basically, just a recount, the 6-day off had actually quite enough for my CNY, compared to last year, I had whole bunch of activities, fully packed for the whole week.
Well, comparatively, the amount of getting angpaus increased lol! I set a new record this year.
Anyway, what I had done, what I had saw, what I had ate, what I had drank are actually almost the same, except there are new kind of activities like watching movie, reunion lunch at Elite House, visiting the light festival and so on.
In case you may ask, why don't I make a post of "CNY 2017"?
Ya the answer is obvious, as time passed things are getting common and boring for doing the same thing, so, I may stop for a while to repeat the same kind of post this year,

Btw, recently my friends and I had a simple BBQ gathering at Tanjung Bungah beach.
Ya, as simple as the number of ppl was less than 10 lol.
We couldn't invite more ppl since many of us are working.
With me, Siau Sing, Pearlyn, Tze Yin and her friend (sorry I don't know her name XD), Victor, Zhi Hao, Boon Keat and Yi Hao, this gathering was done as simple as possible lol.
But as I said, meet up is very important to keep your relationship close.
Well just before BBQ I had actually went to Kek Lok Si with Siau Sing, Tze Yin and Kar Oon, that was actually an unexpected outing and I was unexpectedly to be jio-ed lol.

Guess what? I may not update my blog as frequent as I used to do, but positively I'm doing my best to continue my job.
Well, the responsibility had been taken, and there's no reason for me to stop.

Before CNY

#504
23rd January

5 more days to go and it would be Chinese New Year, the year for the rooster.
I'm quite agree with the term "rooster" on the Internet rather than "chicken", as "rooster" sounds more elegant than that.
Well, anyway, all of the Chinese should have on the way of preparation to celebrate another new year again.
Being an almost 20-year-old teenager like me, CNY is becoming more and more important as this festive is telling me that I'm not a child anymore, and I have to be doing something different starting now.
But, I still don't care, as long as I felt that I still remained some childhood part in my heart, I mean, there's no wrong to be childish one more time right?
Erhem btw, I'm still remaining my status as a 19-year-old teenager I'm not ready to step into the 20s yet okay?

So, based on school holidays, I will have a 6-day off from 26/1 until 31/1, since all schools in Penang start at 1st February.
Talking about job, I'm still able to overcome everything, except that the task is covering full-day, I might get tired when reaching home. Well, that wasn't worse enough for any job you can get.
Although some naughty + lazy students might driven you mad, but that's not my teaching way lol. Instead of giving myself high blood pressure, calm down and let them do whatever they want (unless the bottomline is not reached), at certain time they will get tired of that and start following instructions.
Some pushes must be given too, so that they could feel the pressure, as long as they know what are the circumstances.
From all of the above, if you think that is not very pleasant, just keep reading.

I had visited a lot of friends during last Saturday with Kar Oon for a 探班之旅.
Yup most of them are doing shopkeepers and promoters, for sure if there is no customer they don't have to be busy servicing.
But then the working hour is long enough and sometimes additional tasks might be included, and so they are not that as relax as you thought.
Well luckily with the help of Kar Oon, I had managed to meet up 12 friends in total in just one day.
That was about one month and more since Prom Night, I didn't meet up with them.
As I concluded to meet friends in the afternoon in the previous article I had posted, it turned out that it is really true, since Kar Oon and I visited them in the afternoon.
Such a meet up is really important to stay connected, well forgiving me that I did not do that after SPM.

Great, finally I had updated my blog since last week.
I'm waiting for my off days haha.
Bye~

Time For Friends

#503
15th January

Hello everyone, yup it’s kinda boring during the off days yet rest is quite important in our life lol.
Somehow I need to use my brain and my voice the whole time, the moment during sore throat is really uncomfortable, that made me had to use full force to speak out.
Anyway, after going for a round of visiting my friends who are working nearby today, I realized how easy actually my work is, and I had found out that time is too important at this moment.
And so, I decided to write a new article about the time to visit friends, scroll down for more.
But before that, I have to say that this article is only useful for shops or stores, not very useful for offices, restaurants, schools and tuition centres.

Time For Friends

Visiting a friend who is working during the gap period? Yes that’s truly welcoming. Even though you knew the locations, their working time, their off days and so on, you might not get the chance to meet them. You might reasoned that they take a leave that day or went for lunch, but all still depend on how you arrange the time to visit them.

It is really not that tough to estimate when will they stay at the shops/stores. Normally, mall shops open at around 9-10 am, which is actually not the most suitable time to visit them. Why? Well, if you are a shop owner, don’t tell me that you just open the door, switch on the lights and wait for customers. Nope, for sure, you have other preparation works to do, such as checking the stocks, arranging out the items, putting on the price tags etc. By then, visiting friends at that moment might cause conversation lags and halts for a lot of times as they are busy. You might want to take a look around the shop but what if the shop doesn’t seem to be interesting to you at all? Concisely, try not to arrange your time to visit them in the morning.

Next, it’s lunch time and dinner time. From what I know, some shop owners provide workers lunch and dinner, but of course, not that expensive for sure, maybe a lunch box of rice and two types of dishes only. Anyway, if this condition applicable to your friends, then it is recommended to visit your friends at this moment. Yupe, they do not need to do anything and you still can chit chat with them without any worry of them getting away when there are customers since there will be always other workers to help them to do so. However, it might depends on luck, sometimes they might be leave the shop for a while to have their lunch outside, and you will lose the chance to visit them at that time. Moreover, they also maybe have their lunch at the store, which is unauthorised for customers to access. In this case, I still recommend to meet them during lunch or dinner time, or else, call them to have lunch or dinner outside together.

During night time, it is still possible to visit them, but not too close to their closing time. This is similar to that during the opening time, as they are busying clean up the mess, checking stocks, counting money etc. On the other hand, you also have to make sure that your friends do work during night time, as some workers only work until 5-6pm, where visiting them during night time is impossible.

I guess, the answer is obvious, what the best time to visit your friends? Well, it’s none of others but afternoon is the best time to visit your friends. This works 99.99%, unless you are that unlucky 0.01%, when they take a leave on that day. So, in whatever case, time arrangement is important. Somehow, if you and them are free at the same time, how about a hang out? Yes, that makes up 100%!
